Up a Tree and a Quilt

I kind of felt "up a tree" when I was asked to do a baby quilt quickly as I could for a friend of a relative.  Sometimes you are torn in two directions, I would love to make a quilt for a sweet baby but do I have time?  Searching the blogs I found Lisa Boyer's Pua Keni Keni quilt pattern, it would be perfect for a little girl. The pattern was fun and I made 8" blocks with a 30's fabric for that retro feel. With the quilt almost done I can get out of that tree and enjoy a cup of tea! Photograph of women  "up a tree" is from our family archive taken in Moscow, Idaho early 1900's.

Hey! Your quilt came out great!! I'm glad to see it done effectively using alternating plain blocks--I got a little too fussy with all the teeny patchies. You chose a great fabric for the alternating blocks and the quilt came out really cute! Nice quilting, too...

You are having a quiltathon! Baby will have sweet dreams under that quilt! I am liking the 30s fabrics and motifs. I would like to have been on the picnic that ended with tree climbing. Which one is granny?

Hi, Cindy! I found you through Lisa's blog. Your quilt is beautiful. I love 30's prints for baby quilts. They're not too bright, and not too babyish.
